In Section 3.6.7 we indicated how the concept of cross-elasticity of demand might be used to identify the goods that could be included in a particular segment of the automobile industry (e.g. the ‘small car’ market as opposed to the ‘luxury car’ market). Taking an example other than motor cars, indicate how you might use the same approach to identify the segmentation in that market and provide a broad indication of how that market is segmented.
